If you bought the latest iPhone 4S then like most new owners you might not be fully aware of the best ways of taking care of it. Learning about what needs to be done to keep the iPhone in top-top condition and accident-free is essential. to appreciate its full potential for as long as possible.

Here are some of the basics to looking after and protecting the iPhone -

Use a Case - a simple solution to protecting the iPhone on-the-go is with a hard case, soft pouch or anti-glare film. Any for these options should help avoid scratch marks to the multi-touch display. For the best protect take a look at the hard-shell cases which are great to protect the entire phone against more visible knocks. While a simple anti-glare film is great if you're just looking for a practical solution to protect the screen against everyday smudge marks and fingerprints.

Keep it Cool - if used under regular conditions, an iPhone should remain cool to the touch, although with heavy use (using certain apps for a period of time), if left in direct sunlight, or left in a vehicle on a hot day, it does have the potential to get abnormally hot. If you should find yourself in this situation, it would be wise to switch off the phone, move it to a shady location, and allow it to cool before using it again.

Sound Problems - if problems are noted with regards to sound degradation when talking on the phone, then it could just be as a result of clogged up holes. At the bottom edge of the iPhone is the speaker and mic holes; these can often get blocked with dust, dirt or similar debris. Using a can of compressed air or and old toothbrush should help with clearing this problem.

Downloading Applications - an endless list of apps are now available for the iPhone, but the best practice is to download only those that come from trusted and reliable source. An application downloaded from a non-trusted site might well contain a virus or similar harmful piece of code. If faced with a problem of this nature, reboot the iPhone and attempt to remove the virus or malware infected application.

Battery Life - a lot of iPhone user have a habit of leaving several applications on standby or leaving unless applications running in the background, which soon depletes the life of the battery. Make a habit of running only what programs are required and charge the battery properly.

Differences Between Plasma, LCD, and LED HDTV Technology

At the very first stages of HDTV popularity, Plasma was the first screen technology used. Plasma HDTVs use phosphors (super-heated gasses) that when activated, can illuminate themselves and emit light that creates the TV backlight. Plasma is a great way to light up a TV screen, and offers really good contrasts as well as color brightness and brilliance. Some of the downsides however include a distorted picture if you aren't viewing the screen on center. Plasma screens generally offer a higher refresh rate (meaning the screen refreshes very quickly so faster images like sports or video games will not have trailing images or 'ghosts'). Plasma TVs are still popular these days, but mainly because they are cheaper than their LCD or LED counterparts. They also generally have a lower resolution. Many people who bought an HDTV in the early days or up to even a year or two ago still have Plasma screens.

LCD HDTVs, on the other hand, have really become popular because of their relative cheapness (especially since LED screens have become popular) as well as their resolution quality. LCD screens also use less energy than Plasma screens. Instead of using super-heated gasses, LCD screens use several million very little light bulbs. This reduces the need for thick panels (like Plasma screens needed) so LCD screens are generally thinner.

One of the benefits of LCD HDTV screens is their weight. They are much more lightweight than Plasma screens (or the huge CRT screens). Another benefit is the viewing angle. A person can sit at any angle and see the screen clearly. This is a huge factor for those who have big families or large viewing parties.

LED HDTV technology is the "new kid on the block" where they combine the best of both Plasma and LCD screens. LED screens have some of the best black to white contrasts and color brilliance while they also have amazing resolution, sharpness, and refresh rates. LED screens use less energy than other screens, and are more expensive to produce. LED screens are lighter and thinner than LCD and Plasma screens and have no issues with viewing angles. With all of these benefits, LED technology is the most expensive type of HDTV on the market today, however their prices are coming down and are getting more in line with the prices of the other models. Whether you end of choosing a Plasma, LCD, or LED screen, make sure to read the reviews and get the best expert advice in order to help you make a good decision.
